What is a Peer Support Specialist Anyway?
There are times when it is nice to be able to talk with or work with someone, in addition to your therapist or addictions counselor, who understands what it means to walk in your shoes. Even if the path is not the exact direction or length having a direct connection in the community can make all the difference when it comes to making healthy changes. Peer Support Specialists offer space and time to learn more about recovery and mental wellness in an accepting environment.

No doubt about it - life is challenging right now, we are living through a national crisis. Each time we scroll through our social media feed, pick up a newspaper, or turn on our television adrenaline surges through our systems. At a time like this it is easy to feel that threats are everywhere and our bodies react accordingly: Our hearts speed up, we may feel sweaty, hyper-focused, or try to avoid or check out from whatever is unpleasant in the moment. Follow rangers on a journey to places most people never go
To celebrate Thursday’s 100th anniversary of the U.S. National Park Service, Google has launched “The Hidden Worlds of the National Parks,” an interactive on-demand documentary that utilizes the latest 360-degree video technology to give viewers short private tours of five U.S. National Parks, as seen through the eyes of the park rangers who know them best.
If you can’t visit the parks in person this year, this free offering from Google is a perfect alternative.
“The U.S. National Parks are full of wonders, but most people don’t get the chance to visit in person,” Google's Nick Carbonaro said in a blog post. “While nothing beats the real thing, for this month’s 100th anniversary of the National Parks Service, we wanted to see if we could use Google’s technology to help share the parks with everyone.”
